A Ruby-On-Rails developer uses the Ruby framework to create new or modify existing software. A Ruby-On-Rails developer will usually design applications, write new code, test and debug code and possibly integrate new technologies. A typical job description would be to develop a Ruby-On-Rails web application along with providing support for the company website. This could mean working with other developers to create and launch a server-side application that integrates dynamic pages into it by using XHTML and CSS. Developers should have software development experience especially in Ruby and Java, creativity, problem-solving skills and good communication skills. They should also hold a Bachelor’s Degree in either Computer Science or another relevant field such as Information Technology or Engineering.
